Arson Blamed for Jinks Fire

Panama City fire officials say someone broke the window, poured in some sort of flammable material and threw in a match just before 10 p.m. Monday night.

The State Fire Marshal and the Panama City Police and Fire Department are investigating the crime.

The portable classroom and its contents, valued in excess of $75,000, are listed as a total loss.

More than a monetary loss, though are Mrs. Howell's educational materials and collectibles from 24 years teaching at jinks.

Lt. Jimmy Talley of the Panama City Fire Department says they are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Call the Panama City Fire Department at 872-3045 if you have any details.
