A State Prison Corrections Officer Is Jailed for DUI/Manslaughter

Twenty-two-year-old Shawn Lee Lenker's arrest by the Florida Highway Patrol came on a DUI Manslaughter charge.

Patrol investigators say Lenker is charged with driving under the influence and driving in the wrong lane earlier this summer on May 8 when his car was involved in a fatal collision with a van on Highway 77.

The mishap occurred several miles north of the Southport area.

The driver of the other car, 78-year-old James C. Marshall, died from his injuries. Three of his passengers were also injured.

Lenker suffered some broken bones. He’s employed as a Correctional Officer at the State Prison in Greenhead.
