In a letter to investigators at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Assistant State Attorney Alton Paulk says there's not enough evidence to carry on with the investigation.
Just two months ago the State Attorney's office also dropped criminal charges against the city's Public Works Director Wayne Gable, who was arrested on eight felony counts including grand theft and official misconduct.
The Altha City Council reinstated Gable the same day he was arrested.
There were allegations that some City Council members violated the state's Sunshine Law and threatened the former Altha Police Chief.
In his letter to FDLE, Paulk says there is no concrete evidence to confirm those allegations.
