Another Change in Altha's Top Cop

Now, just eight months later, the council has fired the police chief it had hired to replace Jones.

Chief James Mills was relieved from duty last week.

Altha Mayor Wes Johnston is not happy about the decision and made a mistake in its sudden change in feelings for the police chief.

The Mayor told NewsChannel Seven he was outvoted when the council voted to fire Chief Mills and replace him with new Police Chief Jimmie Baggett. The vote was 3 to 1.

Some residents of Altha say it was a change for the better. Others warned “stay tuned”.
