Municipal Election Held in the Washington County City of Chipley

Current Chipley Mayor and City Council Member-at-Large Tommy McDonald was up for re-election. He was challenged by Livingston Hodges, Jr.

McDoanld retains the Member-at-Large seat he has held since 1992 by defeating Hodges by a vote of 113 to 76.

Chipley voters were also deciding whether they want council members to serve four-year terms instead of the current two.

The idea was defeated by a vote of 118 to 65. So the elected officials will continue to serve two-year terms.
