Panama City's City Manager Ken Hammons will soon be getting some assistance.

Florida City Manager Jeffrey Brown will leave his job in central Florida on September 1 to become Panama City's first assistant city manager.

The Lakeland Ledger newspaper says Brown will earn $79,000 a year, compared to his current $56,000 income.

The 38-year-old Brown was selected in a nationwide search.
