The U.S. Attorney's Office says it is closing it's case against 8-former Bay County Sheriff's Office employees involved in the Martin Lee Anderson incident.
Anderson died after a January 5th, 2006 altercation at the old Bay County Juvenile boot camp on his first day at the facility.
Anderson's parents and their family and attorney say they're refusing to give up, even though they feel the judicial system failed them.
Supporters of 14-year old Martin Lee Anderson were obviously upset after the U.S. Attorney's Office met with the Anderson family to say they're closing his case.
The Feds say they interviewed more than 40-people and examined thousands of documents over the last 2-and-a-half years, before deciding there was insufficient evidence to prosecute the 8-defendants for civil rights violations.
"The bloodstains of injustice will continue to remain on the government's hands until they hold the guards and nurses accountable for killing Gina and Robert's baby," says Attorney Benjamin Crump.
The U.S. Attorney's Office announced it would pursue the civil right's case against the 7-drill instructors and the camp nurse just hours after a Bay County jury acquitted them of Aggravated Manslaughter charges in October 2007.
This video was a key piece of evidence in the case.
"Justice has not been served, people could see that video showed cruel and unusual punishment."
But the overriding testimony came from medical experts, who said Anderson died of complications caused by sickle cell trait.
"The autopsy was jacked up."
The Anderson camp still believes he was murdered, then the crime was 'covered-up.'
"The Bay County Sheriff is jacked up, they breached the trust of the public and killed Martin Lee Anderson."
"The way he was beaten, he had no reason to be beaten like that, (we) buried him the day before his 15th birthday," says his mom, Gina Jones.
"Despite the fact that the U.S. Attorney's Office will not be pursuing any charges, Anderson's family members and his attorneys say they'll stop at nothing until they get justice."
"Today ain't good Friday, it is a day of infamy. We hear in this decision today the remnants of Dred Scott, shouting loud, reverberating across this land, it's a bad decision not only in Florida but for America today," says Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor.
"Just as we have been fighting this battle for the last 101-years, the NAACP is getting ready to march onto Washington coming from the state of Florida."
"I'm going to fight, I'm going to march, they say it's closed, it's not closed, it's open and I'm going to make sure it stays open, that was my baby."

Nina, you say it's OVER DEAL with it!!!!! How can you tell someone to deal with the lost of their child, grandchild, nephew, whatever? When you lose you family member I want to tell you this....IT'S OVER DEAL WITH IT!!!! DON'T CRY WHILE YOUR"RE AT IT! SUCK IT THE F UP! I bet this will upset you should you read this. That is exactly the way they will feel about you telling them this! You are so lame!
Kathy, the only reason you take up for these people is that you “supposedly” know them. Let me ask you this, since "they were just doing their job," if that was your child that "your friends" did this to, would you be okay to still go around them and act as if nothing happened? Do you “REALLY” think they would be up for having brunch everyday with you after you "MURDERED" their child? I don't think so, and anyone who says they are okay with "hanging out" with someone who murdered their child has a serious mental problem. They never cried because this little boy died, they cried because they didn't want to get charged and go to jail, because I'm pretty sure they would get the same treatment that displayed towards Martin Lee Anderson, by other inmates, wouldn't you say so yourself friend?
This is to Anon. You act as if you have NEVER done something that could be considered "wrong" in others eyes. You need to WAKE UP! This is nothing more than a child, the reason for this child being in boot camp is irrelevant opposed to his death. If you lost your parent or child in a situation such as this you would want the same justice that she is seeking. We become such hypocrites when other people are in a position that we could never dream of being in. Your comment is of ignorance and I hope you can tell yourself the same thing should you ever be in a situation where you loved one is murdered or hurt by someone else. It is so hard for people to think outside the box because of their upbringing. Nevertheless, none of us are saints so let's stop pretending that we are BETTER than others, which is the problem with the world today. Again, nobody is perfect, and NOT EVEN YOU! Jack
