Thanks to the generosity of local charter boat captains and the folks at North Light Marina in Niceville, a group of children of deployed military members spent the day out on the water fishing Saturday.

Organizers calling this "Fun DMC” or fun for Deployed Military Children.

Twenty kids between the ages of 8-13 able to get on the boats and fish.
Their mothers, by the way, treated to some spa services poolside while the kids were out.

Around noon the kids came in and weighed their fish.

One of the biggest catches of the day was a 22-pound Cobia. Family members tell us they are grateful their kids got this opportunity.

"They were so excited. They've been wanting to go fishing since we moved here last year. We just haven't had the opportunity. My husband deployed in November and it’s just so much we don't get to do. I told them guess what? You're going deep sea fishing and they were excited, Ginger Kraft, a mother told us.

Some of the fish caught by these kids were Spanish mackerel, Red fish, and speckled fish,
