A Bay County couple is facing a number of drug related charges after sheriff's investigators got a tip from area merchants.
Thirty-two-year-old James Bearden and his 25-year-old girlfriend Jennifer Wise, were both arrested at a home in Bayou George.
Narcotics officers began the investigation when purchase logs kept by area merchants showed that someone listing a Gilbert Road address had bought a large amount of Sudafed.
Sudafed is an over the counter medication containing ephedrine, which is one of the primary ingredients needed to cook methamphetamine.
Authorities say they found close to 1000 grams of meth oil in the home along with all of the ingredients needed for a mass production meth lab.
Officials also found hand made weapons.
Ruth Sasser, with the Bay County Sheriff's Office said, "What we have found today was four jars of meth oil; it’s a product that is made towards the end of the meth production process, before it’s dried out into the powder. We found well over 200 grams, which is a large size of meth lab for this area."
Bearden and Wise have been booked into the Bay County Jail.
They are charged with attempted manufacture and trafficking of meth.
Investigators say more charges are possible.
