At a workshop Tuesday, commissioners realized there are still a lot of misconceptions, so developer Bob Blackerby reintroduced his plans build the village-like community at the depot.
In exchange, Blackerby would build a condo on the marina property. Commissioners voiced concerns over condo height, parking issues and public access.
The public voiced their support and concerns as well. One last concern commissioners had was evaluating the true value of the marina property.
Commissioners are worried they might get the short end of the stick when it comes to giving up their waterfront property, but Blackerby proposed a joint private-public venture where the city would actually benefit from development on the marina.
