"As a young child i used to dream of being on the biggest all night singing in the world."
The all night gospel singing used to be just that.... literally from sun-down to sun up.
"There were people who camped out there ... set up their little zones on the football field.
Local musician and recording studio owner Calvin Gann was one of those who camped out on the field with his family when he was a young boy.
This year his family will be one of the featured groups, sharing the stage with some other "big" names in Southern Gospel.
"The Hoppers are one of the premier groups in the world for gospel music. The Green's.
Triumphant Quartet.. incredibly talented."
For those of you who also dream of singing at the all night gospel sing, there is way you may be able to do just that.
"There's also going to be a talent search.. a talent contest and the talent search winners are going to be there."
Along with the annual rodeo, the all night sing is one of the biggest fund raising events for the Bonifay Kiwanis Club.
"The Kiwanians there in Bonifay do a great job of putting this thing together.. they have outdone themselves this year."
For those of you who've spent time outside these days you know it can be unbearably hot and of course...
"You know it always rains on the 4th of July and you could always expect a rain shower out there on the football field, but we don't have to worry about that anymore"
So for the second year, the Kiwanis club has decided to move the event in doors at the Bonifay high school auditorium.
"Don't worry about the rain, come on and we're going to have a great gospel concert." And don't worry the event won't last until sun-up.
For tickets you can drop by the christian bread basket in lynn haven.. or you can order on line at bonifaykiwanis.org or buy at the door.
