Police say Crestview High School senior football player Chasen Scheid shot his girlfriend Shannon Brown and then himself Thursday night.
Sources close to the victims say Schied found out Brown was dating someone else and caught the two inside a car at a car wash. Police would not confirm this story but said this was an apparent crime of passion.
Counselors and police arrived early at Crestview High Friday morning, ready to help the students cope with the loss.
Senior Class President Robert Morgan says, “No words can express what the students, the teachers and faculty are feeling right now. We lost two very good students. We're in mourning right now. It’s very hard but we're coping with it.”
Both Scheid and Brown died at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
