With the possibility of two major disasters coming within three weeks of each other, local coordinators are looking for an inclusion of new workers.

The local Red Cross chapter held a "friend-raiser" encouraging area residents to volunteer.

Tom Sontag just returned from south Florida where he's been helping with the Hurricane Charley relief effort. He says volunteering is the right thing to do.

"We're all Americans. We all love each other. We want to take care of whoever has a problem. I'm sure those people in Fort Myers would be up here helping us if we had a problem."

If you'd like more information on volunteering for the Red Cross, call the local chapter office at 763-6587.
