Lawmen Try to ID a Pedestrian Traffic Fatality

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers need the public’s help identifying a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car.

It happened around 7:30 Friday night in Callaway.

Troopers tell NewsChannel Seven the unidentified man was walking down the middle of “Old Bicycle Road” about a mile east of Star Avenue when an SUV hit him.

The victim died almost instantly.

Authorities say the road was dark and the driver of the SUV, 26-year-old Marsha Taunton of Panama City, did not see the man until it was too late.

Charges are pending. Troopers say anyone with an idea about who the victim may be should contact their local police agency.
