Bay Medical, in conjunction with Florida Health Connector, will host an Affordable Care Act seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Bay Medical Auditorium.
Open Enrollment in the new healthcare exchange plans continues through March, however if you enroll before Jan. 15, you will have coverage effective Feb. 1. It is estimated that 38,000 Bay County residents may qualify for subsidies which could cover some, if not all, of the out of pocket costs.
Under the new law, people may receive tax credits, which can be applied directly to their monthly health insurance premiums, provided that their income is between $11,490 and $45,960 for individuals and up to $94,200 for a family of four. Additional subsidies reduce deductibles, co-payments and total out-of-pocket expenses. These benefits are available to people with incomes of up to 250% of the poverty level, or about $29,000.
The seminar is free and those who attend are under no obligation to speak with an agent about enrolling, however agents will be available to assist those who are interested.
Seating is limited so please call (850)747-6188 to reserve your seat. The auditorium is located at the corner of 6th St. & Bonita Avenue inside the Medical Office Building.
