America's Got Talent Stars Pitch in to Help Million Dollar Band

The Bay High School Million Dollar Band is one big step closer to their goal of raising enough money to get to the Orange Bowl. They hosted their last big fundraiser Sunday at the Martin Theatre – “Arts in Bay County: A Balancing Act."

Members of the band were honored to have some special acts in town to help them put on a performance that could help give the band their final push in their journey to the Orange Bowl. Members of the band and local dancers took to the stage alongside stars from NBC's hit show, America's Got Talent."

"Honestly it's just surreal because they're both just so talented and really made it,” said Stacy Graham, member of the BHS MDB Danceline. “They made it on national TV and done so many incredible things, to be dancing in the same show as them is kinda like a dream, it's crazy."

Members of the band sat spellbound as the acro-singing duo Donovan and Rebecca practiced earlier Sunday in preparation for headlining the shows later in the day. The duo happened upon the band's lip dub video on YouTube and decided they wanted to help out.

"We saw the video, it was just so inspiring and the children just looked so happy,” said America’s Got Talent semi-finalist, Rebecca Peache. “It seemed like such a wonderful thing that they were doing that we've been following them ever since."

"We didn't realize how powerful releasing a lip dub could be and who would pick up on it," said band director, Nicholas Efstathiou

Also lending some well known talent was Beth Ann Robinson, another former contestant and quarter-finalist on show, who hoped to help bring some encouragement to the students with pursuing their dreams.

"I just hope that they learn you can do anything if you just work really hard,” said Robinson. “If they work hard and do what you love you will just pursue it."
