Argument Between Roommates Ends With Baseball Bat

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office says a man attacked his roommate with a baseball bat after an argument over the rent and bills.

On Wednesday night, deputies responded to a 911 call at home at 172 Kimberly Ann Drive in Santa Rosa Beach. When they arrived, a man at the home said his roommate had attacked him with a baseball bat. The man was taken to Sacred Heart hospital.

The roommate, 38-year-old Jason Nichols, was also inside the house.

According to statements gathered at the scene, Nichols got into an argument with his roommate over rent and household bills. The victim went to his bedroom and shut the door. Nichols later came into the victim’s bedroom with an aluminum baseball bat and hit him several times.

Nichols was charged with Aggravated Battery, a second degree felony.
