"I mean, the more time that passes we're just afraid that we're not going to have a good outcome" Dickens granddaughter, Pam Hill told us.

The 87-year-old was last seen about 9 AM Friday morning.

"We knew if he was not home by dark, we knew subsequently something- something wasn't right" said grandson, Eric Hill told.

Police issued a nation wide 'silver alert'.

"Everybody is concerned about Mr. Dickens- as you know its an 87 year old white male with possibly some Alzheimer's, dementia -some medical issues" explained Sneads Police Chief, Burt McAlpin.

Officers from multiple agencies have searched by ground and air - with no luck. The family, meanwhile, has been waiting, hoping and praying

"My niece is a little prayer warrior and she was just telling her mom yesterday that when we pray God answered our prayers. But, we've been praying for a couple of days and she just doesn't understand why God hasn't heard our prayers. And we're just having a hard time explaining that to her- we're having hard time explaining that to us" Pam Hill said crying.

The family and authorities ask anyone who sees Dickens, or thinks they may have seen Dickens to please call 911 immediately.
