BAY COUNTY-- Bay County Sheriff's deputies say they've now charged a man they say was responsible for a series of hit-and-run traffic crashes Thursday afternoon.
They arrested 30-year-old Jim Boyd Friday immediately after he was discharged from the hospital.
Boyd is charged with one count of DUI involving property damage, three counts of leaving the scene of an accident and violating his 10-year probation on a 2012 home invasion robbery conviction.
Sheriff's deputies say Boyd's erratic driving caused a car to crash in parker around 4:30 yesterday afternoon.
They say he then drove to Callaway, where he hit a utility pole on Lake Drive.
Witnesses say he tried to run away from that scene but collapsed a block away from his injuries.
Boyd is due in court Saturday for a bond hearing.
