BAY COUNTY-- Thursday the Bay County Board of Elections held a training program for new voting equipment to be used during the 2016 elections next year.
New features include an electronic check-in process where voters can check in without paper polling books. It's the first of many orientation sessions for the county's election workers.
According to Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen, the county is looking to hire upwards of 600 people and make sure they are comfortable with the new equipment.
Andersen explained, "We're always looking for more people because backups are a wonderful thing to have, if you didn't have a back-up that's not a good process to have at all."
