PANAMA CITY - Bay County Chamber of Commerce officials are working on a program that may help keep college students here after they graduate.
The Chamber is launching the Internship Marketplace. The idea is for businesses to post internships and will help, with their company, on the marketplace website. Then students can go online to see what's available.
Not only is the Chamber reaching out to local students, but they're making the program available to colleges all over the country, hoping to showcase our area. The website is only a week old, and it already has six internships listed.
Brittany Cole, the Chamber's VP of Communications said, "We have everything from banking. Financial institutions to media internships. Basically any business that's here in bay county they can offer an internship on this website for free."
The chamber is trying to attract more businesses to participate. For more information log onto www.panamacity.org and click the "Business Resources" tab.
