A Fountain Man Ties Up Girlfriend and Beats Her

BAY COUNTY-- A Fountain man is in the Bay County jail Monday night, charged with attempted murder and false imprisonment.

Bay County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Paul Thomas Carhart Saturday morning at his home off Greenbriar Drive.

They say he tied-up his girlfriend with tape and beat her for several hours, before she managed to escape and run to a neighbor's house.

Paramedics took her to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies say Carhart admitted to them that he intended to kill his girlfriend and had fantasized about it for months.

They say he planned to mutilate and torture her in front of a mirror so she would be forced to watch.

Carhart also claimed he'd taken 15-sleeping pills.

Paramedics took him to the hospital for treatment, before he was arrested and booked into the Bay County jail.
