PANAMA CITY - Commissioners proclaimed Tuesday Dr. Ken Shaw Day.

Shaw is leaving his post as the Dean of the Florida State University Panama City Campus to take over the president's job at Southwestern Adventist University July 1.

During his 25 years at FSU PC, Dr. Shaw has served in a number of positions including an instructor, interim dean and finally dean.

The campus has had some significant achievements during his leadership, including the creation of FSU's College of Applied Studies.

"Under his administration, the campus has seen tremendous growth and we as Dr. Ken Shaw will always be remembered for his great leadership at FSU PC," said Guy Tunnell, Bay County Commissioner.

Associate Dean Stephen Leach will serve as interim dean while the board of trustees looks for Shaw's permanent replacement.
