Bay County Special Olympic Bowlers are striking out stereotypes, showing they are just like the other kids.
More than a dozen special Olympic athletes showed off what they can do earlier today at the Bowl-A-Rama.
Organizers of the tournament say getting the kids together helps with developing communication and motor skills.
Meantime, the athletes say a day of bowling is fun and being their friends is the best part.
Athlete Mckenna Blanks said, "Yeah, I like having fun bowling and hanging out with my friends. Every time I go bowling, it's like my favorite sport to hang out with my friends and stuff. Yeah, they are like my family to me."
The athletes get together once every two weeks to practice.
the kids are gearing up to go to state finals in Orlando.
