Bayou George Man Charged in Connection with Double Shooting

BAY COUNTY - Bay County Sheriff's investigators have charged a Bayou George man in-connection with a double shooting at his home early Wednesday morning.

43 year old Michael McCoy is now charged with an open count of murder and attempted murder.

Sheriff's investigators say McCoy shot and killed 46 year old David Walker about 2:30 Wednesday morning, after finding out Walker was having an affair with his wife, 37 year old Susan McCoy.

Susan McCoy supposedly invited Walker to stay at her and her husband's home on Rhonda Road, after his release from the Bay County Jail on a domestic violence charge.

When Michael McCoy found out about the affair investigators say he pulled out a gun and planned to commit suicide, but say Susan McCoy talked him out of it.

He and Walker then got into an argument in the front yard, and McCoy killed Walker. Susan McCoy tried to intervene and she too was shot.

McCoy suffers physical disabilities that makes it difficult for him to walk. He claims he shot walker in self defense and accidentally shot his wife.

Susan McCoy is still in the hospital in guarded condition. Michael McCoy is in the Bay County Jail, due in court Saturday for a bond hearing.
