Bicyclist Critically Injured

Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a bicyclist has suffered critical injuries after getting hit by a car in the Cedar Grove Community.

The accident happened around 8:30 Sunday night at the intersection of East US 98 and Maple Ave.

Troopers say 58-year-old Vernon Browne of Panama City was riding a bike across Highway 98 when he rode directly into the path of a car.

Witnesses say Browne was taken by ambulance to the hospital with critical head injuries.

The driver of the car, 27 year old Keith E. Garrison was not injured.

The accident investigation is continuing.
