PANAMA CITY, Fla. Bill Cramer presented a little more than 20-thousand dollars Tuesday afternoon to Gulf Coast State College.
The money will go toward scholarships to help first generation college students, and nursing and education majors. It came from the Florida College System Foundation board, which supplements local college foundation boards.
Cramer was recently appointed as the state foundation's newest board member. It's his latest role serving higher education, which dates back to 1983, when he was first appointed to the Gulf Coast Community College District Board of Trustees and the Foundation. “"It's just such a great system that does such a tremendous job for so many people. Not just high school graduates but returning students, vocational, education, workforce training, and that kind of thing which is very much needed in these days. I look forward to being a part of that program on a statewide basis."
Cramer was appointed to the state foundation board, in-part, for his experience in raising money from national and statewide groups to help support Florida colleges.
