BLOUNTSTOWN-- At 96 years old, well known Christian Evangelist Billy Graham is no longer able to share his message from the public, but his children and grandchildren are carrying on his legacy.
Graham's oldest daughter, Gigi, and her husband Jim Wilson are doing just that this weekend in Northwest Florida. Since Jim's father worked very closely with the Billy Graham Crusades, the couple met when they were just children.
This weekend they will be in Blountstown and Bristol. Gigi will lead the "Real Life Ladies Conference and Luncheon" at 10:00 Saturday morning at Blountstown Baptist Church.
She will share part of her story of growing up in a family with a famous preacher for a father. "I've been working with 'My Hope with Billy Graham"'this year.. 2014 we're doing new videos. We've got one coming out about heaven. His mind is on heaven and how people qualify to get into heaven, and so he wants to make sure that message is out," she said.
"People seem to think we've got some kind of a teflon umbrella over our family and that we don't have the same issues that other people have and so i try to encourage them by the fact that yes we do, but we also have the same resources and that is that we have the person of Jesus Christ," she added.
Jim Wilson is no stranger to the ministry. He's led mission trips to many countries including India and Haiti holding crusades similar to the ones Billy Graham once held.
He will be speaking at a men's breakfast Saturday morning at 9:00ECT time, 8:00 central, at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol. The Wilson's' are also very active in getting some of Billy Grahams last messages out to the public on video.
The couple will be at Blountstown Baptist Church Sunday morning and Sunday night.
