FREEPORT - Earth Day isn't until April 27th, but that didn't stop Freeport from celebrating early.
The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center in Freeport began celebrating Earth Day at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
Everyone experienced interactive exhibits while talking to nature experts about the local species.
Games and activities were provided for all ages as well as food and beverages. Different prizes were also given away like bikes. Live music was played throughout the event.
"We need people to understand the importance of our earth, of our environment, the future of the environment and that's what we're doing out here. We're showing everybody different things that are available on how they can make a difference with the environment and the future of our planet. Without teaching people these things, we're in trouble," said Paul Arthur, Director of the Biophilia Center.
All proceeds will be going to the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center.
