BAY COUNTY-- An Arkansas man, vacationing in Panama City Beach is dead after a jet ski crash. Authorities say he hit a boat just off-shore from St. Andrews State Park.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officers say the victim is 25 year old Bryan McManus from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Officers say McManus was one of a group of people that rented jet skis from Treasure Island Marina Thursday afternoon. The group was riding the jet skis in a line through Grand Lagoon around 2:15 pm.

Witnesses told investigators that McManus was heading toward a boat, named "Live Bait." The boat delivers bait to fishing boats.

The captain, Charlie Poor says he and McManus both swerved, but it was too late. They hit almost head on. McManus fell into the water, Poor's passenger, Matt Wright also fell in. Poor pulled Wright and McManus on-board, and headed for the St. Andrews State Park boat ramp.

Several people started performing CPR on McManus until paramedics arrived, including McManus' father-in-law who was riding a jet ski behind McManus, but is was too late.

Doctors at Bay Medical Sacred Heart pronounced McManus dead on arrival. Fortunately no one else was injured.

Fish and Wildlife Officers have confiscated both the jet ski and the boat to continue working their investigation.

The Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on McManus' body to determine the exact cause of death.
