PANAMA CITY-- UPDATE: August, 21, 2014 - 5:00pm

Justin Davis appeared before county Judge Tim Campbell Thursday afternoon for a bond hearing.

Campbell ordered him to be held without bond on an open count of murder.

Police said Davis and Huey got into a fight Wednesday, which led to her death, but they haven't said how she died, or what caused the fight.

The medical examiner's office is performing an autopsy to determine how Huey died.

Davis' case now goes to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Chris Seay was preparing to take his dog for a walk Wednesday morning when he saw yellow tape surrounding his neighbors house.

"It was a shock. It was a real shock for that, all of that coming out of the house," said Chris Seay.

Panama City police responded to the house at the corner of 8th Court and Hamilton Avenue after receiving calls about an unresponsive woman.

When they arrived, they found the woman dead in a bedroom. Police arrested 27 year old Justin l. Davis of Panama City.

Investigators said he and the victim had gotten into a fight, but they're not saying what led to the fight. This is just the latest murder in a neighborhood that has seen more than it's share of violent crimes, seven killings since late May.

"To stop the violence, the entire community needs to be involved. in order that we can put, I feel better control on the things that are happening. It primarily starts with the adults and the churches and of course the teenagers as well. So everybody needs to be involved and hopefully and prayerfully, we can stop the violence," said Rev. Willie A. Potter Sr.

Police have not released the victim's name or how she died. They're still trying to contact her family.

Davis is being charged with an open count of murder. A grand jury will most likely decide the degree of murder.
