Attorney General Pam Bondi couldn’t dodge questions from the media about rescheduling an execution of a two-time convicted murderer to go to a re-election campaign fundraiser.
Bondi says she released she made a mistake to re-schedule the execution. Bondi said her staff was aware of the reason why she requested the execution be delayed. She also said that the execution has been delayed for 20 days. Bondi says she will not reschedule an execution for campaign fundraisers again.
“I made a mistake, I’m sorry, it won’t happen again. I asked the killers date be changed and he was given 20 more days and it won’t happen again. Again, I’m sorry.”
The execution has been rescheduled to October 1st.
