While people around the world celebrated St. Patrick's Day Saturday, people in Bonifay took the day to celebrate their city, businesses and community.

Thousands of people came out to the fourth annual “Down Home Street Festival”.

There was a car show, arts and crafts, sheep and cattle riding and plenty of food including free black eyed peas and cornbread.

Three women started the “Down Home Festival” after traveling to other various towns and communities around the United States. They wanted to bring the atmosphere of community unity to Bonifay and event organizers say the festival grows every year.

The festivities in Bonifay continued Saturday night with a bull riding event at the Veterans Memorial Field.
