PANAMA CITY-- A traveling youth choir from Birmingham shared its talents in Bay County Monday and honored veterans for their service.
The Briarwood Chapel Choir stopped at the Mathison Nursing Home to perform a concert for the residents.
The high school students chatted with residents then sang some well known hymns and patriotic songs.
"We enjoy coming, not only ministering in churches but to come to places like this where a lot of times we find folks don't have anybody. We want to encourage them and share something that will be hopeful to them; Share the love of Christ and that's why these kids give up this time. They work for nine months to prepare for this and go on the road for a week and share the love of Christ through music," Director Clay Campbell said.
"I just love singing, I love reaching out to people, and I think that singing is a good ministry to be a light for God," Grace Adair said.
This stop is one of many on the choir's Florida tour which ends in Orlando this weekend.
