The Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency is working to rejuvenate the downtown area.
Saturday, they hosted an open house with the hopes of bringing in more businesses by promoting vacant properties.
Officials say they hope to bring more retail, commercial, and office options.
Despite the tough economy, organizers celebrated at least one building that sold on Saturday.
"Downtown represents the core of our community and we're going to make investments in that community and we're gonna stand up and believe in the downtown and it's a great vibrant safe place," said CRA Director William Whitson.
This is the first open house that the Panama City CRA has held.
