CVS in Miramar Beach Victim to Bomb Threat Hoax

Walton County Sheriff's deputies responded to the CVS store Tuesday afternoon, after employees called for help.

Apparently an unidentified person called the store demanding pin codes for the green dot prepaid credit cards.

The caller told the store employee if they didn't comply and wire the money, he would blow up the store.

Authorities evacuated the store, and searched for a bomb, but didn't find anything.

Turns out someone has been placing these same type calls to other CVS stores across the country.

"I know we have found out who the carrier is for CVS and our investigators are working with CVS and their phone line carrier to find out where that phone call originated from,” stated Catherine Rodriguez, Public Information Officer for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez is advising any CVS employees who receive similar scam calls, to immediately contact local authorities.
