Calhoun Commissioner Wants Grand Jury Probe

According to the County Record newspaper in Blountstown, County Commissioner Danny Ray Wise called for a Grand Jury probe during Tuesday night's Commission meeting to examine the travel expenses of County Administrator Sonny O'Bryan.

According to Wise, O'Bryan's travel allowances have exceeded state statutes. He questioned the County Attorney about the expenses, as well as a resolution to appoint a County Administrator.

Unsatisfied with the response, Wise requesting State Attorney Glenn Hess convene a Grand Jury to investigate O'Bryan, Clerk of Courts Ruth Attaway, and the Commission itself.

He wants the Grand Jury to review all county contracts, all road bids, and the county's purchasing procedures, including the 985,000 dollars spent on limerock in this fiscal year.
