Port St. Joe's own Calvin Pryor is at the beginning of what's poised to be a long and successful NFL career. He finished his first day at training camp with the New York Jets.
One of the Panhandle's finest is now playing with the best in the world, excelling and impressing even just with one two hour practice under his belt. The first round pick out of Louisville spent most of his first day at practice taking reps with the first team defense.
Calvin Pryor said, "It was good. Just getting in the swing of things. That's what I did at OTA's and mini camp; I did the same thing. I had some first team reps. So, it always feels good to get first team reps because you always have to be ready to go."
"Just try to get better. Just try to come out here and compete on a very high level and get better each day with my teammates and just try to make guys around me better, cause that's what it's all about," said Pryor.
While Calvin's playing nearly exclusively with the first team, he's yet to have been announced as a starting safety for 2014.
