A man who fled to our area after a gruesome killing in Connecticut is ordered held on one million dollars bails.

A man who fled to our area after a gruesome killing in Connecticut is ordered held on one million dollars bails. Tyree Smith, 35, is charged with killing Angel Gonzalez, a homeless man, then eating part of his body.
Investigators say Smith then fled here to a family members home in Lynn Haven by way of bus, but his family turned him in to authorities after he allegedly confessed to them.
His public defender is asking that Smith be given a psychiatric evaluation and be placed on suicide watch.

lady you dont even know what you talking about. He went to FAMILY MEMBERS not to the rescue center. People like you make it hard for everybody just be thankful that you are not on the streets needing help. Yeah there a lot of people who abuse it but there a lot of good people that just down on their luck and have nobody else. Get a heart for your fellow man instead of everybody running down the mission. Yall need to be trying to improve the system.

Barbara it doesn't appear that you read the article. It very clearly states that he fled to a family members home in Lynn Haven. I don't recall any mention of a homeless shelter in the article.

I am sure he heard about the big homeless shelter in Panama City and was heading for it. That is what I love about vagrants; they all seem to know where to get handouts and a roof over their head. This is a clear example of what type of people homeless shelters attract. Criminals on the runs, sexual offenders, mental patients refusing treatment, and serious drug addicts. Real homeless people qualify for government assistance and possibly Habitat for Humanity.
