Centennial Celebration for Bay County Elections

It's been 100 years of elections for Bay County.

Today, the Supervisor of Elections Office held a special event to celebrate.

Election officials say their goal was to educate the public on history of Bay County voting.

But to also show their appreciation for all the volunteers who made it possible.

"Just imagine yourself getting up at five in the morning and staying until eight in the evening on election day. that's what these people are doing and that's what they do during the election timeline. and bay county shines so bright because of these wonderful people that go out and take their time." Said Mark Andersen of the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Free food and drinks were served, and raffle prizes were given out to several lucky winners.

Community organizations also had a chance to put their specialties on display and reach out to local residents.
