Christmas Comes Early at Shriners Shaddai Temple

PANAMA CITY - Local children celebrate Christmas early this year with the Shriners at the Shaddai Temple in Panama City.

Over 100 kids and there families were at this years Christmas party.

The day was packed full of food, magic tricks, presents and of course Christmas carols.

Santa Claus made a surprise landing in the Bay County Sheriff's helicopter.

Shriners helps about 250 children in Bay and surrounding counties.

They provide specialized medical care for children free of charge.

The Christmas party is a way for the kids to hang out with their friends and relax.

"This is just a way to make sure they have a happy day because they spend a lot of time with us and our drivers going back and fourth. We want them to have a good time," said Scott Hair, Shriners Potentat.

There are 22 Shriners hospitals around the panhandle.

Organizers say it costs over a million dollars a day to run each hospital.
