Commissioners Looking To Standardize Ordinances During Special Events

Bay County Commissioners took steps on Tuesday to standardize special event ordinances in unincorporated Panama City Beach.

The ordinances would focus on the beach, during certain seasons like Spring Break.
Some of the county's laws governing music, concerts, and events differ from those in Panama City Beach which can lead to confusion over enforcement.

"The Sheriff's Department and the Beach Police had problems working as well together because the ordinances were different and a changing boundary line with the city and the county. What this does is firm up all the ordinances and make them identical," said Commissioner Mike Thomas.

Commissioners will discuss that issue on November 6th.
