Copper Theft Vandals

An area communications company is offering a reward of up to $5000 dollars for information leading to arrests and convictions in copper thefts in the Chattahoochee area.

Vandals recently struck twice cutting the copper telephone cables and disrupting service for almost 500 customers.

Fairpoint Communications says copper theft is a real safety concern that can cause problems for people who need emergency services.

Fairpoint says it's not so much an attack on the company as it is an attack on the community.
