Motorcyclists from around Bay County have teamed up yet again with the Panama City Beach Police Department to help spread joy to the less fortunate.
Sunday morning was the 18th annual Cops 'n Kids Toy Run.
"It's amazing, you know, it makes you feel good to be able to give to the kids that are a little less fortunate and know that they're going to have a Christmas," said Panama City Beach Police Cpl. Chris Boyer. "It's grown a lot. Last year we filled half the van, this year we filled up the van and a truck."
More than 150 motorcyclists contributed gifts, canned food, and monetary donations to the cause. The gifts will be given to low-income families, hand-selected by guidance counselors at schools.
Not only will the families receive the gifts, the Panama City Beach Police Department will also deliver a Christmas meal to the families.
"We're in a position in our lives as adults now we can give back to the community," said Diana Woods, one of the event organizers. "You know, I've been in the position of the parent on the other side who can't afford Christmas, so it's always nice to have those who give back.
