Crestview -- Police arrested James Daniel Watford and charged him with attempted murder, tampering with a witness, and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Crestview police believe Watford and another man were involved in a February shooting incident in which they were in a vehicle chasing James Williams down a roadway and firing shots at him. The chase took them across the path of an Okaloosa County Patrol Deputy, who arrested the two men, though Watford was later released on bond.

The next month, Watford was driving his motorcycle when he saw Williams riding his bicycle in Crestview. Watford accelerated and rammed Williams, running him over, but causing only minor injuries.

After the second incident, which took place on March 20th, authorities were not immediately find or arrest Watford. However, on Thursday, Watford’s run from justice came to an end. Fugitive Task Force members surrounded Watford’s home at 3517 Auburn Road in northern Okaloosa County, and managed to catch him as he fled out the side door of the residence.

Watford was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview, where is being held without bond.
