DeFuniak Springs DeFuniak Springs is just a few days away from its very first "Lake Fest.”

City officials have been working on the fun filled day for several months now.

It will kick off with a 5K run around the lake and will continue throughout the day with different water sporting events and other activities.

There will be something for everyone, including tours of the historic parts of the city as well as a car show.

"We want to people to know what our community is about, which is family, fun and friendly, historic, and that we are here and that we are part of Walton County, and there is more than just the beaches,” said City Manager, Sara Bowers.

The event will begin at 7 a.m. and go until 5 p.m. and is free to everyone.

Bowers says the city has gotten a lot of great feedback from the community, and everyone seems to be excited.
