South Walton Deputies responded to Bella Boulevard in Santa Rosa Beach around 11:00 Wednesday night when her son stated he could see his mother through the window laying on her bed unresponsive.
Deputies gained access to the home and found 55 year old Paula Riggs dead. Riggs is a former Okaloosa County Commissioner.
According to the Investigations Division of the WCSO, Riggs was taken to the District One Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
No foul play is suspected at this time and the death is still under investigation.
