Derailed Jackson County Tank Car Chemicals Will Be Moved Late Today
Chemicals from a derailed tanker in Grand Ridge will be transferred to a new compartment later today. The tanker was one of 11 railroad cars that jumped the tracks nearly two weeks ago.

Chemicals from a derailed tanker in Grand Ridge will be transferred to a new compartment later today. The tanker was one of 11 railroad cars that jumped the tracks nearly two weeks ago.
Jackson county officials emphasize there has been NO leak at the site, where methyl chloride will be transferred to a new tanker later today.
As A precaution, the surrounding neighborhood was notified of the plans to make the transfer in case the residents wished to evacuate while the procedure was underway.
Parents at a nearby school were also informed of the plans in case they felt they wanted to take their child from school. The plans now call for the transfer to begin around 5pm

Had no idea, until granddaughter called from school. this 5 00 deal, knew nothing about until seen all the vehicles there. Live a block from derailed train. Also news stated the train derailed around 8 30 on Sunday, actually, I came through at 5 30 that morning, it had already derailed. God was looking out for Grandridge people that day.
