The F-22 Raptor that crashed Thursday on Tyndall Air Force Base has top secret information and the military wants to keep it that way.

Tyndall AFB officials issued a warning this morning, telling people to stay away from the crash site, to not take pictures or stop along Hwy 98.

The fighter jet went down around 3:30 p.m. as the pilot was returning to base. He ejected at the last second to prevent the plane from crashing into any occupied areas.

One witness told News Channel 7 the plane flew right over the top of her car on Hwy 98, moments before the crash.

The pilot’s name has not been released. The Air Force is investigating the cause of the crash and no other information is available at this time.

If you witnessed the crash and/or you have video or photo of the crash, we’d love to hear from you. Email video and photos to news@wjhg.com.
