PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL-- The FBI is now joining the team of investigators across three states looking in to a series of jewelry store robberies, including one in Panama City Beach.
The first robbery happened on August 5th in Dawsonville, Georgia, which is north of Atlanta. In that robbery, the female suspect forced employees to the back of the store and zip-tied their hands before getting away with about 14,000 dollars worth of merchandise.
In the second robbery, it was the same story, different location. On August 11th, a female walked into REEDS Jewelers in Pier Park in Panama City Beach and forced the store employees at gunpoint into the back of the store where she zip-tied their hands. In the Panama City Beach robbery, the woman got away with more than 400,000 dollars worth of merchandise.
In the third and most recent robbery, happened in Bluffton, South Carolina, at Jared Jewelers. This time the female robber forced employees to the back of the store where she tied them up. Police haven't said how much she got away with.
The Jewelers’ Security Alliance offering reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the robber.
